Do You Judge People By Thier Pants?

While other students were enjoying their short classes during their late arrival schedule at school today. In Sociology we were segregated by the type of pants we wore. This was odd at first, with students walking into class unaware of what was going on, and having to be judge based on the pair of pants that they wore that day. The lesson that was associated with this segregation was both in groups and out groups. You could either be a part of a group or the exact opposite. Feelings to the group that you are a part of tend to be stronger, and makes other more judgmental to the so called out group. Though in our sociology class didn't escalate to terrible things being slung across the room based on someones pants. This would've been silly.

Having learned this lesson and seeing a short YouTube clip. I've realized how this is a common human practice. Of being part of a group and either out casting a separate group or judging them differently. I've brought up work before in my blog posts. Me being part of the training staff, I can see how we judge ourselves differently from others. Also see new employees as potentially good additions to staff or lazy bums. Furthermore, our specific group that we are a part of, as trainers, we are also judged by our higher ups like managers, general managers, and district managers.

So in conclusion, we all make groups, but understanding our differences and breaking down these metaphorical walls made of stereotypes and prejudgements should be a priority in society these days.

P.S: I couldn't stop looking at peoples pants after class.. Is their something wrong? Lol
