In Sociology we did an experiment where we watched television, but in a peculiar way. This included counting things that popped out at you and changed colors, also watching certain programs without sound, watching others watching television, and finally simply watching the television without it being on. As stated above all of this was very peculiar. Still once completed made you really see the other side of television. That being that we spend hours at a time doing nothing staring at a box of lights searching for entertainment. From previous units, we've concluded that one of America's values is being efficient with their time, proven by the phrase "Time is Money". Still we are drawn into this television that is made that we blink less while watching, things pop out to draw attention all the time. All of this to keep our attention on a silly box. All of this reminds me of the book Ferinheight 451 by Ray Bradberry. In this book the main characters wife is mesmerized by the television and believes it is her life. She would also mention her friends coming over, but it was really her talking to the Television program. If we don't change of regulate this, then it is very possible that we will become like the citizens of Ferinheight 451.

Good connection to the book! Good post!
